I think, therefore ayam

The chickens of Jakarta hold a particular place in my affections. From the strutting ayam jago (cockerel) to the scrawniest old hen, I admire the way they scrape out a living in the alleyways, yards and drains of the city. The guys in this picture are my neighbours.

Ayam Megapolitan

Bukan “ayam kampung” lagi, kan? Menurut saya, ayam megapolitan layak dikagumi: perjuangan mereka untuk hidup di tengah hiruk pikuk ibu kota cukup luar biasa, menggaruk nafka dari tumpukan sampah, debu jalanan dan air limbah rumah tangga di selokan. Kedua bersaudara ini tetangga saya.
